The Intex newly designed Auto Pool Cleaner is a hassle-free solution as it effectively vacuums the entire pool floor automatically. This pool cleaner is designed for Intex above ground pools with 1-1/2 inch hose fittings and attaches to the inlet connector in the pool with a 24 foot, seven-inch hose. Auto Pool Cleaner requires a filter pump with a flow rate between 1,600 - 3,500 gallons per hour. Not suitable for in-ground pools. For 24 ft and smaller Intex above ground pools with 1'1/2 (38mm) hose fitting only. So when I opened the box a small plastic piece fell out so I could tell something was broken. The piece was so small I figured it was nothing and continued putting the cleaner together.

So I hooked it up to my filter and put it in the pool and nothing happened. It didn't move an inch. I figured my filter wasn't strong enough (as it was the wimpy one that came with the pool) so I upgraded to a 2800 gph sand filter at the price of $169.99. Great filter by the way.

I hooked that filter up to it and still nothing. So I took it out of the pool and took it all apart and found that the jets were not facing the right direction because that broken piece I previously mentioned was a small tab that holds the sprayer into place so it sprays in the correct direction. So I got the sprayer aligned in the right way and hot glued it in place.

I let it dry for the night and put it in the pool and it is working perfectly. If it slows down just clean out the net and it will work well again.

Definitely recommend. $60 for this unit.

$100 for the manual rechargeable vacuum, The one you walk behind like a your vacuuming the carpet. My son and I are having a hard time coming up with a name for our little vacuum robot.

I was concerned about complaints that it would get stuck and stop working after the first day. They are unjustified. I have watched this little guy get stuck and then work its way out, every time. This unit operates on the pool filter pumps discharge pressure, using eductor pump jets to propel it through the water.

The eductor creates a vacuum which in turns picks up debris from the bottom. Note: We are using the pump that came with the 22' pool. Thank you for taking the time to review your Intex Automatic Pool Cleaner. We apologize for the disappointing experience you've had. The Automatic Pool Cleaner suction is based on the venturi effect. One end of the hose should be connected to the auto pool cleaner and the other end of the hose needs to be connected to the pool inlet, where the water from the pump is returning back into the pool.

This is a common set-up mistake. If you are still in need of assistance please call our toll-free customer service 1-800-234-6839 to set up a warranty replacement.

At first use, we thought we bought garbage. We were very wrong, the problem wasn't with the vacuum, the problem was our pump. We upgraded our pump and this vacuum worked endlessly all summer long! Our pool was sparkling! The key is in your pump.if it isn't putting enough power into the vacuum, it won't move.No more running the net across the bottom to loosen up debris. We have had Intex Pools for the last 6 years, and most of our time was spent cleaning before enjoying.not anymore!

Excellent purchase! If it doesn't seem to work, change your pump, it isn't powerful enough, you won't be disappointed.
